As a founding member of the United Nations, the Kingdom of the Netherlands strongly believes in working together and achieving common goals. This year, as part of our “75 Years of Freedom” celebration, we celebrate a milestone for the UN, as it turns 75 on October 24. For 75 years, it has enabled states to come together and resolve their differences peacefully.

What is the UN? The UN serves as a global forum where countries can raise and discuss the most difficult issues, including problems of war and peace. In addition to maintaining international peace and security, the UN protects human rights, delivers humanitarian aid, promotes sustainable development and upholds international law.
