Clean air encourages people to go outside and enjoy their communities, whether for a picnic in the park, a walk down the city street, or a bike ride to the store. When more people are outside and enjoying their community, the healthier and more secure it will be.
Dutch designer Daan Roosegaarde — in collaboration his team of designers and engineers at Studio Roosegaarde and expert parties as ENS Europe and Bob Ursem — have created the Smog Free Project in Rotterdam.
Using the world’s largest smog vacuum cleaner, the Smog Free Tower uses patented ion technology to produce smog-free bubbles of public space, allowing people to breathe and experience clean air. Roosegaarde then makes rings and cuff links out of compressed smog particles cleaned from the air, creating a tangible souvenir of clean air.
