Members of the Dutch Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra will perform a unique mini concert for commuters in the Main Hall of Washington’s Union Station at 4 p.m. Monday, November 28.

Travelers will be treated to “poffertjes” (traditional Dutch small pancakes) as they enjoy  music performed by a trio of the orchestra’s trombone section: Bart Claessens, Nico Schippers and Martin Schippers.

They will perform classic pieces like Firehorse (S. Verhelst) and a Christmas medley.

The flash mob-style concert by members of the world renowned Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra serves as a teaser for a concert on November 29 at The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.

In the coming years, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra will visit the US more frequently to perform on the West and East Coasts.
