Savvy startups, inventive creative professionals, top-notch entrepreneurs, and edgy sounds all converge at this year’s SXSW as New Dutch Wave hits Waller Creek Ballroom. From Sunday, March 11, to Thursday, March 15, the New Dutch Wave house will be hopping with exhibits, startup pitches, matchmaking sessions, panels, performances, and in-depth presentations showing the best the Netherlands has to offer.
This is the second time the Dutch will present the world of SXSW the many sides of their tech, business, and creative scene. “We had such a great time last year!” exclaims Arne Koefoed, co-founder NDW. “The diversity of partners, guests, business colleagues, and journalists defied our expectations. They felt at home in our cool temporary habitat. So once again, we’re bringing them together.”
This year promises to be equally energizing and engaging for those new to the Dutch scene or those who’ve worked with Dutch partners but want to learn more. Everyone who visits the New Dutch Wave house or the New Dutch Wave stand at the SXSW Expo Hall will find “a vibrant hub to come and meet the Dutch, with more and better business for all parties involved,” notes Atilla Meijs, co-founder NDW. “SXSW is the perfect platform to host our inclusive and diverse wave. It’s always exciting and surprising.”
In a recent Business Insider overview of most innovative countries, Holland was ranked number three. Its startup ecosystem and creative industry have an expanding international impact, as the country proves the perfect landing spot and connector for the rest of Europe. “We are outgoing traders by nature. We’re versatile, fast, friendly and fun,” says NDW co-founder Danny Frietman. “We’re thrilled to bring that spirit to SXSW.”
